NDIS Pricing and Claiming Requirements
The NDIS pricing schedules and guidance help participants and providers understand the maximum prices and claiming requirements for NDIS supports.
Applicable maximum prices must be followed for NDIA-managed and plan-managed supports. Providers cannot charge above these limits. Participants and providers may agree to a lower price. Maximum price limits do not generally apply to self-managed supports.
The NDIS Support Catalogue lists support items and identifies which claim types may apply, including provider travel, non-face-to-face supports and short-notice cancellations. These charges are only claimable where the applicable requirements are met, including participant agreement where required.
Providers are responsible for:
using the correct support item, rate and unit of measurement;
complying with the pricing and claiming requirements applicable to the date the support was delivered;
ensuring invoices accurately describe the supports and any additional charges; and
keeping appropriate records to support their claims.
A support item appearing in the catalogue, or funding being available, does not automatically mean a support or charge can be paid from a participant’s NDIS plan. Claims must also meet applicable NDIS requirements and the participant’s plan and funding arrangements.
Claims that do not meet these requirements may be declined or queried. Incorrect payments may be subject to review and recovery by the NDIA.
Pricing documents and claiming guidance can change. Participants and providers should check the latest NDIA publications, including their effective dates, before agreeing to charges or submitting claims.
